Allison Rainboth

The period before and during the War Between the States was one of the most turbulent in American history.  Quilts made before and during the war years are evidence of the impact on daily living. Quilt historian Allison Rainboth will discuss the changes in fabrics, patterns and quilting designs, using examples from her collection of battered beauties

Allison is the owner of Sisters Choice Quilting Service in Berlin, WI. She has been quilting since the mid 1980s and longarm quilting for others since 2003.  People in her small town brought things to show her…and she became fascinated with quilt history, old fabrics, old quilts, and the people who made them. She has a collection of “working girls,” battered beauties which she shares at lectures and other presentations.  Allison is an AQS Certified Appraiser of Quilts and Quilted Textiles and is also an NACQJ Certified Quilt Judge.
