We can hardly believe that we’re celebrating our 14th year in business. It really doesn’t seem that long ago that a group of “fiber obsessed” friends opened The Woolen Needle in a quaint historic building on the town square in Williamsburg, Iowa on July 1, 2006. Under the ownership and direction of Mary Blythe, it became our home away from home. New patterns were created, wool was dyed, and customers became friends.
In 2010, the shop was nominated by customers and we were honored to be included in the Fall/Winter 2010 Quilt Sampler magazine. It’s been loads of fun getting phone calls and visitors from all over saying “I saw you in Quilt Sampler…”
Annette took over ownership of The Woolen Needle on January 1, 2020. She remains as one of the original “fiber obsessed” friends who have been with the Woolen Needle since its beginning. I bring years of experience from my own upholstery business, custom sewing, wool appliqué and quilt pattern designs. We look forward to continuing to serve you. We will continue to carry a full shop of our own hand-dyed wools, rug hooking supplies, penny rug & quilt kits, reproduction cotton fabrics, punch needle patterns, yarn and our own new designs.
We look forward to seeing you in the shop or at shows and helping those of you online that aren’t able to come see us. Please feel free to contact us with questions or comments.
Happy Hooking, Stitching, Punching, and Quilting,
along with Heidi, Margaret, Linda, Kathy, Susie and Wendy
